Shelton was born and raised in Ravok, so he knows the city well. Through the years, he's learned to keep his head down, but his ears and eyes open, which, more often than not, has afforded him the opportunity to hear and see things most individuals would normally ignore. At an early age he found he had a knack for forgery and made an early living selling fake citizenship documents to those people the registry turned away. Such a lifestyle wasn't to his liking however. While he had no reservations about what he was doing, he didn't like the back alley meetings and always being on the lookout for the law.
He began his time at Yae's as a patron, however, little by little, he ended up guiding her to make better business decisions. The next thing he knew, he was working for her. He has long since given up his criminal ways, focusing his skills on helping Yae Varone spot fakes in her art collection, as well as taking care of the number crunching in the business.
Shelton is a well spoken witty man who enjoys a good conversation almost as much as he enjoys appreciating a fine painting. He's very intelligent and won't suffer dealing with people who don't share his intellect, he had enough of that during his forgery days. Shelton can usually be found at the front desk of Yae Varones, or if not there then usually wandering the gallery upstairs with a cup of coffee in hand.
