A fox in the woods at night.

Nightvision is the ability that some races and other creatures found in Mizahar to see in very low light to pitch black conditions.

Detailed Summary

Nightvision works by collecting the tiny amounts of light, including the lower portion of the infrared light spectrum, that are present but may be imperceptible to normal vision, and amplifying it to the point that creatures with these special eyes can easily observe the world around them in low light conditions or pitch darkness. Isur and Nightstalkers have this ability. Morphers can duplicate this ability by studying the eye structure of the Isur.

When utilizing Nightvision, the world will take on an eerie green cast. And while details in the dark will show up, they are not quite the same as details in the full sunlight because shadows are more prominent and gaps in light are filled with darkness.

Advantages & Limitations

The main advantage of Nightvision is that all the details of the world around them are retained. While different than daytime sight, clarity and contrast are still present making vision easy. However, certain things such as camouflaging colors and contrasts that will work to throw off sight during full light will still work to throw off sight during Nightvision. This ability will not detect heat and cold such as Infravision will.
