The Gemstones of Mizahar

The following list details the various types of gemstones found in Mizahar. Each individual gem entry will contain the gem's name, a brief description, the type of location it is most commonly found in, how common it is, its hardness, common uses, its value, any special names/nicknames it may have and finally what sort of special abilities may be drawn from it through the use of Mele, the Gnosis of Semele, Goddess of Gems.

Hardness is rated between 1 (softest) and 10 (hardest).

Gem Availability ranges: Very Common, Common, Uncommon, Very Uncommon, Rare, Very Rare, Legendary. The more common a gem is, the easier it is to find. An availability of Rare and above means that the likelihood of finding such a gem is quite low and in order to acquire one, quests may be required. Legendary availability is found only through Quests AND with HD approval.

Note that the final value of a gem is affected by its size as well as whether it is raw/rough or clean/clear. When a gem gets to a certain size, the value increases significantly just as the availability decreases. In the case of Availability, a +1 would increase the Availability of a gem by one state. For example, a common gem between 6-10 carats would have an availability of Uncommon with a +1. If a common gem was 11-20 carats, it would become Very Uncommon with a +2. If a common gem were 21+ carats, it would become Rare with a +3. If a gem's availability would be increased beyond Legendary through increasing the number of carats, that size of gem is impossible to find.

1/4 - 5 Carats = Listed Value/Availability

6 - 10 Carats = Listed Value x 2 (Availability +1)

11 Carats - 20 Carats = Listed Value x 3 (Availability +2)

21+ Carats = Listed Value x 5 (Availability +3)
